20th Pregnancy Week & Nursery Room Update

I know these are probably boring to most everyone but I still wanted to document each week of my pregnancy, so I'm sorry this is all I blog about lately.  I hope to start posting new things on Zoey's "Big Girl" room soon.  I am working on a chair right now, we recently purchased fabrics, are picking out paint colors and Jerrod is about to get started on her toddler bed he is building.

We have decided, instead of doing a new nursery for Norah, just to do a new "Big Girl" room for Zoey.  The reason being that Zoey's nursery is right next door to our room and all other bedrooms on the other side of the house.  Also it is a very small room.  We would want Norah to be in that room anyways so since we are happy with the nursery as is we didn't see a reason to change it.

I'm excited to get going on that new project!  And will be posting pictures as we go, just like we did with Zoey's nursery.

Now on to the weekly pregnancy blogs...

Here are my twentieth week stats:
  • Maternity clothes? Same ole same ole... pants and some tops.
  • Movement? Her movements are becoming more and more pronounced. I actually saw her move from the outside this week.  It wasn't anything major but I could see my belly bounce and move a bit.  This is very different from my pregnancy with Zoey... I don't think I saw my belly move until closer to my third trimester.
  • Sleep? I randomly got sick in the middle of the night one night and I think it is because my reflux has gotten so bad, which in turn means my sleep has gotten pretty uncomfortable. I'm also having a lot of achy-ness through my hips and lower back so that is a sleep hindrance as well. :(
  • Symptoms? My allergies got better for a while but then came back towards the end of the week. I easily cry about the dumbest things or nothing at all.  I am thirsty all the time.
  • Food cravings? Still the same.
  • Food aversions? Still no doughnuts please. :)
  • Labor signs? Nope
  • Best moment of the week? Seeing Norah move from the outside!

19th Pregnancy Week - Norah

Here are my nineteenth week stats:

  • Maternity clothes? Same ole same ole... pants and some tops.
  • Movement? I feel her about every few hours a day.  Her kicks are really low and as of my last ultrasound she is breech, has been pretty much every ultrasound we have had. Just like her sister.
  • Sleep? Much better!
  • Symptoms? The beginning of this week my allergies were bad but they seem to be getting better.  I am feeling really tired similar to the way I del tin the first trimester.  I keep waiting for that nice burst of energy you are supposed to get in your second trimester.
  • Food cravings? Still pretty much everything but staying away from lots of fried food and Mexican food due to my reflux.
  • Food aversions? Still no doughnuts please. :)
  • Labor signs? Nope
  • Best moment of the week? Hearing Zoey try to say Norah's name. It comes out "No no" which is just so precious, I don't even want to correct her. :)

18th Pregnancy Week with Baby #2

Here are my eighteenth week stats:

  • Maternity clothes? Definitely need to look into more tops a few more bottoms.
  • Movement? She's still moving and kicking in there.  I feel her usually when I lean over and late in the evening.
  • Sleep? Much better!  I have actually gone a few nights without hardly waking at all, not even to use the bathroom.
  • Symptoms? Allergies are still raging and I'm super emotional.
  • Food cravings? everything at this point.  Even sweets... this is very different than my pregnancy with Zoey.
  • Food aversions? No doughnuts please. But besides that, I'm good with almost anything.
  • Labor signs? Nope
  • Best moment of the week? Jerrod got to feel Norah move and around in my belly.  He didn't feel kicks but he could feel her shifting around in there.

17th Week Pregnant

Here are my seventeenth week stats:

  • Maternity clothes? Still pants only, but I have whipped out a few of my maternity tops just because they cute, comfy and in season.
  • Movement? She's a mover.  Still nothing major and J hasn't felt her move yet, but she will kick at my tummy when Zoey is in my lap... early signs of sibling rivalry??? I sure hope not!
  • Sleep? My reflux has been acting up this week, despite the fact that I am on prescription meds for it.  So, now not only do I have problems falling asleep b/c of the reflux, I wake up to bizarre dreams, potty or just toss and turn.
  • Symptoms? My allergies are still crazy. I actually had someone ask me today if I was ok b/c I looked like something was wrong... I'm assuming that was from my watery eyes, runny nose and puffy eyes.
  • Food cravings? still everything!!!! But I've been really liking some loaded baked/mashed potatoes!
  • Food aversions? nothing much, just steering clear of spicy foods.
  • Labor signs? Nope
  • Best moment of the week? We settled on a name!!!  Norah Leigh Dorminey... we will simply call her Norah.  So excited!!!

Outside Time

This beautiful weather has been amazing!!! That teamed with Zoey's love for being outside, means we have been spending so much time outside everyday.  Jerrod worked hard on our yard to get it all ready for Zoey during the outside months.  I have so enjoyed this time as a family.  We drag a huge blanket outside in the backyard, grab a bag of fruit, cups of water and spend hours out there talking, playing, drawing chalk on the fence or on the house, playing in the sandbox (that was mine and my sister's when we were little).  These moments have been so joyful and fun... most of the time.  I'm going to keep it real... one day Zoey wasn't having being in the backyard, she got mad, threw grapes, yelled and then got over it.  Tis life with a toddler.

But all in all... these have been some of my favorite moments.  These are the moments I remember so vividly as a kid... the everyday stuff - just playing outside, riding four-wheelers, playing in the water hose, making mud pies, cutting trails in the woods with my sister, etc.

I just love my family and feel so blessed to make memories like that with them.. :)

Zoey has such an imagination.  She made the lid to her sandbox a bed, a trampoline and a slide.  Such a fun kid!

She loves having Dada bury her feet with sand.

Our yard has a slight slope to it and Zoey has figured that out.  She will focus really hard to push her little legs and make her car roll fast down the "hill."

Then take the box of Cheezits while Mommy and Dada are chatting and not paying attention, pour them all over the blanket and pig out.

So beautiful.

"And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears. And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see what you find there, With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair."

Zoey Happenings

I thought it would be fun to document a few of the funny things Zoey says/does.  Since she is getting smarter and smarter, she can come up with some pretty entertaining things.  So, I have decided to call this little series “Zoey Happenings.”

Enjoy!

~ 1 ~
The other morning I was making breakfast and accidentally left the pantry door open.  Zoey must have snuck up behind me and ran back in the living room when I wasn’t looking because when I peeked around the corner to check on her, she was pouring salt in her mouth via the saltshaker.  I immediately ran over and said,  “Oh no, Zoey!  That’s yucky!”  She looked at me frantically and started yelling, “WATER!!!! WATERRRRRRR!!!”

~ 2 ~
Zoey loves playing telephone with pretty much anything. It’s pretty common to see her in my rearview mirror put her shoe up to her ear and say “Hello D.”  Well, she got a little more creative the other night.  She put her foot up to her ear and said “Hello Peeps!!!”  I couldn’t hide my laughter.

~ 3 ~
Zoey was in the bathtub the other day and started to use the rag to wipe her belly.  As she was doing this she was saying, “Belly. Bath. Belly!”  I said, “That’s right, you are giving your belly a bath.  Guess what?!  Mommy has a baby in her belly!”  Without skipping a beat and looking very concerned she yelled, “BABY GET OUT!”

~ 4 ~
Me: Zoey you’re going to have a little sister!  Isn’t that awesome!
Zoey:  (puzzled look)
Me: What do you want to name your baby sister?
Zoey:  BARNEY!!!

16th Pregnancy Week with Baby #2... IT'S A GIRL!

Here are my sixteenth week stats:
  • Maternity clothes? Still pants only.
  • Movement? Definitely starting to feel more than the questionable kick here and there.
  • Sleep? Still having bizarre dreams, and add to that raging allergies makes for a restless, stuffy-nosed night.
  • Symptoms? My allergies are insane. I remember when I was pregnant with Zoey feeling like my allergies doubled in severity and that is the truth!
  • Food cravings? everything!!!! :)
  • Food aversions? So you remember how last week I said "even Mexican food sounds good"?  Well, I finally had some of that Mexican food and paid the price the rest of the night with raging reflux and indigestion.  Won't be doing that again for the next several months.
  • Labor signs? Nope, but crazy thing happened... at my ultrasound on Thursday, I was apparently having a Braxton Hicks b/c my uterus was doing this weird curve thing on the screen.  It looked weird and the tech said it was probably a Braxton Hicks.  So strange!
  • Best moment of the week? WE FOUND OUT IT'S A GIRL!!!!  So excited for Zoey to have a little sister!

15th Pregnancy Week w/ Baby #2

Here are my fifteenth week stats:
  • Maternity clothes? Pants only.
  • Movement? Maybe a kick every other day?  Not much.
  • Sleep? Having some crazy dreams which wake me up and make it hard to fall back to sleep.
  • Symptoms? I have been really lightheaded lately.
  • Food cravings? Hot dogs... weird!
  • Food aversions? Nothing much this week... I even feel up for some Mexican food!
  • Labor signs? Nope, but I had a dream I went into labor when I was 18 weeks pregnant.  Crazy dreams!
  • Best moment of the week? My belly has definitely popped out in my opinion but I don't think it's overly noticeable by anyone else though.

ROW!

Zoey is serious about her rowing and pretty bossy too.  This video cracks me up how she is yelling at J, "ROW!!!"
